ROSE HILL 54
CRUSADERS  18
The young Crusaders tried valiantly to rock off the undefeated
Rose Hill Frosh despite what the score appears to show.
It was a game of big plays and Rose Hill had a few more.
Wellington's poor tackling helped many of those big plays
develop but the Crusaders did have a few of their own - 5 plays
that went for 25 yds or more! The Frosh's last game is next
Monday @ Belle Plaine @ 5PM - hope all can come up and out
to support the team! Coach Gocke
Logan Neises - 6 yd. TD catch
Zach Avina - 68 yd. TD run - great blocking by
Tyler Ybarra and Eric Haskins-Ybarra
Devin Dawson - 4 yd. TD run
All PAT'S failed.
Receivers and QB all improved from the previous games gaining
334 yards of total offense. Spencer Kirk, Jeremy Walker & Zak
Tazkargy all had great defensive play.

A couple minutes later, Crusader Taylen Caudillo added (8) to

Sloppy weather and sloppy play by the offense lead to a
Frosh loss at Augusta Monday. Coach Gocke reports the boys
couldn't hang onto the ball at the right times. The special teams
played awesome though - Tyler Lira, Philip Conklin & Spencer
Kirk gave the youngest of Crusaders great field position on
kickoffs, w/ all three ending up in Augusta territory! Clayton
Stallbaumer did a great job kicking and punting as well. The
Crusaders blocked two punts, one by Stallbaumer and recovered
by Kody Page and one by Kirk who converted it for the score!
Coach Gocke also reports the defensive secondary (i.e. Jeremy
Walker, Lira, Conklin, Zach Avina, & Eric Haskins-Ybarra)
 played very well.

KINGMAN  14
WELLINGTON  13
It was a back and forth battle at Sellers Park Monday evening
and the FROSH CRUSADERS fell in a close one against Kingman.
Coach Gocke spoke very highly of his team's effort and
fortitude throughout this see-saw contest. The best game
thus far this season had Logan Neises and Tyler Ybarra both
scoring TD's and kicker Jake Hays going 1/1 on PAT's.
Philip Conklin snagged an interception early on and the
offensive line did a great job protecting their QB (Ybarra)
as he engineered the young Dukesters nicely throughout the
up and down contest. Spencer Kirk ran the ball very well
in relief of Neises and THE TEAM NEVER GAVE UP. A 37 yd
field goal attempt by Hays as time ran out, hit the upright and
bounced out - a valiant and most impressive effort by a
young and very promising kicker. The crowd support was great.
The team gave it their Crusader best - making all those in
attendance proud of the progress these young men have made
since the beginning of the season. GO CRUSADERS!
