Thursday, June 10, 2010 LIONS - 01 KIWANIS - 03
Thursday's night game against the Kiwanis the score was Lions - 1, Kiwanis - 3.
However, the Lions get the official win due to their pitcher pitching more than
7 innings in a calendar week. The Lions have played the Kiwanis twice this year
and both games have been really fun for both teams. They have both been well
played with very few errors. A testemant to that would be a 7 inning game on
Tuesday being completed in less than 1 hour and 45 minutes. Congratulations
go out to both pitchers, Gage Dunn of the Lions and Alex Weiss of the Kiwanis.
Alex faced 24 batters and struck out 11. Great game.
Gage Dunn for the Lions was the sole pitcher of the night with the following stats:
IP: 6; PC: 75; BB & HBP: 2; SO: 4; Hits: 6; ER: 1
Player of the game honors go to Brennan Baum who went 2 for 3 (single & double)
and had the only RBI for the Lions.

Jerrod Huck with the following stats:
Player of the game honors go to the starting pitcher, Jerrod Huck who pitched a
complete game holding the Merchants to one run. The one run was a great
showing of strong pitching and good defense due to the fact the Merchants had
scored 9 (vs. the Kiwanis) runs and 12 (vs. South Haven) runs in their first two
games of the regular season. The game was between the only remaining
undefeated teams in the league.
WAY TO GO LIONS!!!

Kenny Roads Tournament
LIONS - 6
KNIGHTS - 4
Lions game #3 for the tournament was a victory over the
Knights of
Columbus, 6 to 4. This put the Lions at 2 wins and
1 loss for the tournament placing 3rd.
Cameron Corey who pitched 5 innings and threw 92 pitches and still
looked strong.
He scored twice and had a stolen base.
Zack Rayl went 2 for 3, 2 RBI's, and scored once. Defensively he had
2 assists, but both
were outstanding plays. One was him getting the
ball almost behind first base and then
throwing to first for the out.
The second play was an ESPN type play of the day ... he
caught a hard grounder bare handed and then threw to first for the
out. Everybody
went crazy after the play ... when everyone got back to
the dugout they were all over
him about the play and he had the
biggest smile on his face.
Great way to end the tournament.
