GAME RESULTS / STATS ( provided by the coach) 06.17.10 - Merchants 18 South Haven 3 The Wellington Merchants were firing on all cylinders Thursday night against
the South Haven team. South Haven came out scoring 2 in the first inning,
so the Merchants answered back with 11 in the first. The fire was back in the
Merchants as they finished the game with a score of 18-3 in the fourth inning.
Ben DeJarnett made an amazing double play when he caught a sharp hit ball
and then stepped on the bag to finish the play. Tremain Gingerich was caught
daydreaming at first base and was thrown out, but returned the favor by doing
the same to one of the South Haven players. Ethan Carroll pitched the first two
innings and Tremain Gingerich pitched the last two. Great job guys way to show
that heart.
06.15.10 - Knights 10 Merchants 04 The Wellington Merchants played against the Knights of Columbus Tuesday
night at the Hibbs-Hooten field. The Merchants fell to the knight by the score
4-10 in a game where the Merchants played with little hustle or heart. When the
Merchants took the field it seemed that they would rather be in another place
and the play showed it. This was definitely not one of the Merchants best showings
of the season so far.
06.10.10 - Banks 00 Merchants 10 The Merchants won another game this week against the Wellington Banks. The
final score was 10-0 in the fifth with Connor Burden winning MVP awards for
a fantastic and exciting game behind the plate. Noah Macias was the winning
pitcher going the distance and only throwing 57 pitches to shut out the Banks.
06.08.10 - Merchants 10 Medicine Lodge 09 Despite a high level of emotions and an error plagued game the Merchants
managed to find a way to win Tuesday 10-9 against Medicine Lodge behind
a 115 pitch effort from Tremain Gingerich. Once again the offense was on
fire with everyone hitting the ball well.
06.07.10 - Merchants 12 Conway Springs 00 The Merchants got back on track with a 12-0 win against Conway Springs. Austin
Dunn pitched four innings and Connor Burden finished the fifth. The offense
was lead by a solid performance by the whole team with highlight coming in the
form of a stand-up triple by Tremain Gingerich.
06.03.10 - Merchants 01 Lions 14 The Merchants couldn't get anything to go their way in the game except
for a few highlights from Tremain Gingerich, a score by Noah Macias, and
a great catch by Jesse Gonzales.
