Wellington swimmers compete at Maize Invitational

The Winfield Boys Swim Team competed last Saturday at the Maize Invitational. As a team, they placed 7th of 10 teams with 204 points, just behind Wichita Northwest at 209 and Maize South with 214 points. Andover High School blew away the rest of the competition with 369 points to take 1st with Andover Central trailing behind them with 298 points for 2nd.

Wellington Crusader swimmers Rome and Ralphie contributed a combined 17 points to the Vikings’ team total. Here’s how the boys did in their individual events:

ROME HUNT - 10 pts

Boys 200 Yard Free - 2:29:27 (12th)

Boys 100 Yard Free - 1:00.66 (12th)

Boys 200 Yard Free Relay - 1:48.48 (8th)

Boys 400 Yard Free Relay - 4:25.09 (9th)

Rome shaved off 3.14 seconds to his 200 Free time!

 

RALPH CORNEJO - 7 pts

Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay - 1:58.10 (6th)

Boys 50 Yard Free - 26.68 (18th)

Boys 100 Yard Free - 1:08.13 (10th)

Boys 200 Yard Free Relay - 1:48.48 (8th)

Ralphie improved his 100 Yard Free time by -4.71!
