WMS had a solid group of Knights and Lady Knights take part in the Pioneer League Div IV Championship Tuesday. Congratulations to all of them for their participation, that takes considerable nerve and composure to participate in these kind of events and to do so at middle school age says a lot about this group of 5!
Kudos to Jax Cornejo who finished FIRST in the 7th grade division - he won it all, spelling the word Methuselah correctly! Great job Jax!
The WMS 8th grade has been working on an "Egg Drop Challenge". Students design their "egg vessels" if you will and determine which prevent the egg from breaking when dropped from different heights.
First Drop: Track Bleachers
2nd Drop: Bandroom Balcony
3rd Drop: North Exterior Gym Balcony
Final Drop: From atop Cafeteria (by Custodian Troy Jones)

You can read books about it, you can listen to lectures about it, you can even watch videos and other media materials BUT there is nothing like the real thing and it's the real thing WHS Juniors participated in Tuesday on a 16 hour road trip to Kansas City and back home. WHS instructors Mike Wilmoth and Rick Phelps oversee these annual excursions. Between the 5:15AM departure and 9:45pm arrival back home, here's what they did!

Throughout the project, students performed market research to determine what they would sell, figured start-up and operating costs, and determined a break-even point.
Congratulations to the WMS 8th Grade SCHOLARS BOWL TEAM! The Knights were in Newton Thursday and went UNDEFEATED, topping host Newton, Augusta, Mulvane and Salina South. How awesome is that?
