Season Ends For Varsity Boys Basketball

The WHS Varsity Boys only hope to extend the season to regular sub-state play, came up short Monday evening at Mulvane in the "play-in" game for the 17th and 18th seeds of the WEST 4A, eighteen team division. Final score, WHS 59 MHS 73 The (6-14) Wildcats, with the win, will road-trip to (18-1) Wichita Trinity Wednesday for Sub-State West Div 4A opening action.
Both teams were red hot the opening quarter and the Crusaders lead going into the 2nd, 19-16. Mulvane would outscore the Crusaders in every subsequent quarter. Up only 3 at halftime, the Wildcats buried the boys in red in the 3rd, outscoring WHS 20-10, creating a deficit too large to overcome. The Crusaders lost their 8 last games after defeating Conway Springs at the Roadrunner Classic at Chaparral on January 18th.
A good contingent of players will be returning next season...this season ends at 4-15.
