A very strong 3rd, 4th and 5th inning for the Lady Crusaders in their season opener Thursday at Worden Park, lead to a 5 inning run-rule victory over the visiting Lady Indians from Andale, final score 14-4. Wellington had 10 hits and 4 errors to Andale's 4 and 2. Brooke McCorkle (1-0) was on the mound throughout, giving up 4 hits, 4 runs, striking out 4 and walking no one.

The Varsity Crusader Baseball Team begin the season with a win and a loss. The Andale Indians were visiting on Thursday afternoon, under cloudy skies (most of the time), cool and windy conditions, but no rain!
Action gets underway VERY SOON for the WHS Boys Golf Squad - team and individual pics were taken WEDNESDAY. This year's team consists of "4" Seniors (Ty Wilson, Blake Bales, Jaylen Harris and Hayden Baker), "2" Sophomores (True DeJarnett and Rylan Blasi) and "3" Freshmen (Jace Lawrence, Blake Saffell and Langdon Lack). Good Luck to all this season!
The annual WHS SADD "Talents with Teachers" was held at Wellington High School Wednesday evening. "6" different groups (and a grand finale with everyone), competed in front of "5" judges and a good sized crowd.
The WHS Boys Varsity Tennis squad opened their season Tuesday here at home. Mother Nature took a break around noon and fortunately by 3pm, with the assist of wind and squeegees, the early rain disappeared and the courts were playable.
The Crusaders fared well on the cold, damp and breezy at times, day, finishing 2nd as a team in the Quad with Augusta, Eisenhower and El Dorado High Schools. Here's the overall outcomes:
