Wellington’s top finisher was Airalyn Frame playing #2 singles, who won the tournament, in her first ever tennis match. Airalyn won all 3 of her pool play matches 6-1 over Maize South, 6-2 over Goddard Eisenhower, and 6-0 over Maize. In the finals she beat Varenhorst from Collegiate 6-4.
Thursday was TEAM PICS and INDIVIDUAL PICS DAY for the CRUSADER FOOTBALL TEAM! Practice was held prior to the TEAM PICS so was able to get a variety of pics to share with you here on this page. After a regular practice, the IRONDUKES scrimmaged each other for a while, then switched into their game jerseys for their annual team and individual pics. Following that, a few cameos as well were taken of the 12 seniors on this year's squad. Below are the links to ALL OF THOSE!
WHS Girls Tennis began preparation this week for their FALL SEASON which gets underway on Thursday, Aug. 27th with JV Tournament action at Maize South. The Varsity Girls will see their first event of 2020 at HOME on Tuesday, Sep. 1st, when we host Buhler, Conway Springs and Eisenhower. Good Luck to the Lady Crusaders!!
Fall Sports practices are underway, including Volleyball - the Lady Crusaders have been at it every day this week, working hard in both gyms in preparation for their upcoming season which is slated to get underway in Winfield, on Saturday, Aug. 29th.
Fall Sports Practices are underway across Kansas and across Wellington. Will share some pics with you here, taken Tuesday at Cross County, Football and Girls Golf practice. More pics soon featuring Volleyball and Girls Tennis!
Football CONDITIONING TESTS were completed Saturday. This has been the culmination to SUMMER PSQ for many years now, this is when you find out for sure, who is in shape and who isn't. It's also an opportunity to find out who attends regularly during the summer. Please take note of the last 3 pics in this post (see link below) - those student-athletes DID NOT MISS PRACTICE THIS SUMMER - their reward - they did not have to take part today in the conditioning test itself.
