Volleyball Team Photoshoot

Volleyball was first up for the controlled chaos that is Wellington's version of "Media Day" for high school sports.  The team photoshoot was Wednesday afternoon and the athletes made the rounds to all the four photo stations: Susan's Portrait Designs, wellington.cc/WHS Yearbook combo, Sumner Newscow, Wellington Daily News.

The ladies are looking sharp in their new white unis!  Check out who's rounding out the rosters this season in the full wellington.cc photoset!

Volleyball scrimmage brings alumni back on court

It appears the alumni have outdone themselves again this year in their showing at the WHS Volleyball Gatorade Alumni Scrimmage.  At least 16 former Lady Crusaders spanning graduating classes from 1998 to 2023 dusted off their A-game to give some competition to the Mandy (Zeka) Ramos-helmed 2023 Crusader Volleyball Team (Coach Ramos is herself a Class of 2006 WHS graduate).  Last year, the alumni team's "most veteran" participant was a 2002 grad.

Post-Prom Roundup!

All photos are now posted!

Prom was held this past weekend at WHS and it was a stunning affair as usual!  Kudos to Mrs. Karla Lawless and new assistant prom sponsor Kelsey Whaley and their junior prom committee for the beautifully realized theme of Secret Garden.  A huge THANK YOU also is due to the many volunteers outside of WHS who assist in making their vision come to life.  Your work does not go unnoticed!

Horinek, Hunt advance to State

Wellington High School hosted the KSHSAA Girls 4-3-2-1A Regional Wrestling Tournament this past Saturday, and at the end of the day two Crusaders stood as THIRD PLACE MEDALISTS and STATE QUALIFIERS!!  Junior Aubrey Hunt and sophomore Kaylee Horinek both survived to the consolation championship and both pinned their opponents to secure third place finishes in their weight classes!  These two extend their season into the state tournament which will be held in Salina February 22-23.
