Wrestlers Host Augusta and Andale
The Wellington Crusader Wrestlers played host to Andale and Augusta Thursday evening at WHS in double dual action. On the evening, Augusta went 2-0, Andale 1-1, and WHS 0-2.

The Lady Crusader Basketball Team took care of business Tuesday evening vs the 3rd ranked Circle HS Lady Thunderbirds. The girls in red jumped out early on the visitors, leading 14-8 after 1. The Lady Thunderbirds battled back and by halftime, the score was nearly knotted, CHS 24 WHS 26.
The visiting Andale Indians dominated the courts in the end at WHS Friday evening, at the Varsity and JV levels, Andale swept the Crusaders 4-0. No report from Boys "C" Team action.
Both the Lady Crusaders and Crusaders started off strong. The Ladies had it nearly knotted at 13 when the Lady Indians pulled away. The Crusaders were down just 6 at half, 23-29 but the Indians size and form would prevail at the final buzzer.

The WHS Varsity Debate team were given a BIG SEND OFF at WHS - the "Debaters" are State-Tournament Bound!! Devin Dickinson, Gabe Hyer, Austin Fink and Austin Harriger had all qualified earlier in the season at tournaments at Chaparral and Augusta.
Last month, the WHS Varsity Debate won first place at the 4-Speaker Debate Regionals in Parsons! In fact, the Crusaders earned a clean sweep victory with a 12-0 score!
Tuesday, WHS students in the Ag Leadership class took advantage of the good weather to finally install the new Agriculture Education School Farm sign across the street from the Agriculture Building on the Farm Property.
The Ag Fabrication, and Advanced Ag Welding classes built the sign and students in the Ag Leadership class painted the sign last fall.
The WHS JV Wrestling Squad hosted Ark City, Winfield and Rose Hill in double-dual action Monday evening at WHS.

Christmas and New Year's break was over and it was time to head back to the "courts" for the WHS Crusaders and Lady Crusader basketball squads. All "5" teams took the short road trip Friday to Indian Territory a.k.a. Clearwater. The Varsity and JV Girls continued their winning ways - here's the outcomes from all "5" contests - next action will be Tuesday (Jan. 8) @ Wichita Collegiate!!
