CONQUEST IMPACT Explored by WHS History Students

Students in Mrs. Defore's World History class completed their first big project of the year, "Conquest and Its' Impact". 

One of the final products included a museum exhibit where students highlighted one aspect of their learning.  The museum was set up in the library, and each class visited.  Students were encouraged to leave "I like" and "I wonder" comments for the exhibitors.

State-Bound AUSTIN, INC. Finish 5-0 @ Chaparral Debate!

The WHS Debate team, coached by Caitlin Hendrix, traveled to Chaparral on Saturday to compete in a varsity tournament with positive results!

Austin Harriger and Austin Fink qualified for state by earning a first-place ranking with a win-loss rating of 5-0! It is their first clean sweep! Alivia Holgate and Lucas Lyne earned a 7th place ranking with a win-loss rating of 2-3. Aidan Young and Nicole Holdaway earned a 1-4 rating, winning in their last round.

Lady Crusaders / WRC Teams Practice Together

After a 30 minute intrasquad practice, the Lady Crusaders had a couple dozen or so younger WRC basketball girls join them at their Saturday morning session at Wellington High School. The combined group conducted dribbling and shooting drills, fun for both groups, and the coaches. Check out a few pics below that were taken at the event. The basketball season at WHS gets underway in December! Exciting!

HS Boys Basketball Host WRC Youngsters

Younger Wellington boys’ basketball players (WRC) joined the Crusader Boys Basketball team Thursday, for some work on fundamentals and more…you can see from the pics, lots of smiles on lots of faces…looks like all the “kids” (HS & younger) had a great time. This year the boy’s program has a new head coach, Mr. Joe Newman, a WHS graduate from earlier this century and coached the last several years at Belle Plaine, where he and the Dragons found considerable success.

Fall Sports PEP/AWARDS Assembly @ WHS Friday!

An Awards/Pep Assembly was held Friday afternoon at WHS, achievements in Girls Tennis, Girls Golf, Cross Country, and Volleyball were duly noted. It's been a great FALL for the Crusaders and Lady Crusaders - across the board. The IRONDUKES were honored as well with Senior Chi Barton addressing and thanking many that are close to the program. The Cheerleaders, the Crimson Dancers, the Band, and A.D. Luke Smith as MC, kept the crowd fired up - Spirit is HIGH @ WHS
