WHS Jr. Payton Ginter finished 2nd Monday at the 4A Girls Golf Regional @ Quail Ridge in Winfield, just 3 strokes behind Regional 4A Champion Elly Berthoff of Winfield. Payton shot a 93 (+21). The CRUSADERS got their first 2019 taste of victory Friday night, on the road in Altamont (Labette County Grizzlies). Final score WHS 21 LCHS 00. The Crusaders 0-5 going in vs. the Grizzlies 3-2, played solid football, chalking up over 300 yds of offense, about 110% more than in most previous games this season and the first 100+ yd rusher for the Crusaders emerged as well. Kudos to Junior Trace Rusk who carried the ball 27 times for 123 yds and a TD!
The WHS Freshman Volleyball squad hosted a tri-meet with Clearwater and McPherson on Thursday. Rose Hill was originally scheduled as well but cancelled.
In the opening match, the Lady Crusaders fell to McPherson in 2 sets, 18-25, 17 25.

The Varsity Girls Golf Team hosted the AVCTL LEAGUE MEET Tuesday, out at Wellington Golf Club. 36 Golfers from 6 league schools participated. Wellington as a team placed 4th, Jr. Payton Ginter finished 5th and medaled!

Kylie Aufdengarten, Rylee Rusk, Natalie Henning, Olivia Brand, Calli Hatfield, and Jensen Lynnes saw lots of court action Monday at McPherson HS - it was AVCTL LEAGUE MEET time, this weekend 4A REGIONAL ACTION in Wichita, and then the following weekend, STATE ACTION in Winfield on Oct. 18 & 19.
28 new inductees became official WHS National Honor Society members Sunday afternoon out at Wellington High School. Congratulations to the following:
Following the game at Sellers Friday evening, numerous students made their way back over the high school to take part in the HOMECOMING DANCE being held in the Commons area.

A New Duchess reigns this morning over the Crusader Kingdom! Congratulations to Jordyn Young, our 2019-2020 Duchess!!
Coronation took place at halftime Friday at the Rose Hill vs WHS football game at Sellers. A nice crowd was on hand and the weather was quite comfortable, temp and wind wise.
The traditional (and fun) WHS Duchess Pep Assembly took place Friday afternoon at WHS - a large crowd was on hand and the place was rockin'!!!
