Coach James Ginter Tournament Report

"The WHS men's golf team had another successful outing today in the I-35 shootout. This 36-hole tournament included 18 in the morning at Sand Creek Station Golf course in Newton and 18 in the afternoon at Hesston Golf Course.

The boys continued their winning ways, extending the winning streak to six straight tournaments. The Crusaders took the morning round with the score of 321 edging out Salina Sacred Heart by eight strokes. The afternoon round was also won by the Crusaders, firing a 305 at Hesston Golf Course, besting Garden City by five strokes.

The overall tournament championship was won with a total score of 626, besting the closest competitor by 20 strokes. Deitrek Gill claimed the morning tournament with a +5 77, besting his teammate Blake Saffell by a single stroke. The afternoon session was won by Blake Saffell, firing a +1 72, besting his teammate Deitrek Gill buy one stroke.

As with last week's tournament at Hesston, in the end, Blake and Deitrek were deadlocked. In the second sudden death playoff of the week, this time Dietrich came out on top winning the playoff on the first hole with a birdie.

Another excellent showing by the Crusader Golf team, continuing to improve as we move towards the playoffs."
