Crusader Baseball - Younger vs Older (well, kind of)

Some fun baseball action on July 28th at Hibbs-Hooten...some recent grads (mostly 2015) and present Crusader varsity players squared off in a pick-up game if you will - 9 innings of Crusader brotherhood and family...these pics speak to that. It was great to see everyone even though they just graduated 2 years ago!  (They're always in a hurry to get out of high school and then they can't wait to get back) - that is called "normal" and I love it!! CRUSADERS FOR LIFE!

Tournament Ends For Wellington's 16-18 yo's (15 yo's & 10 yo's advance!)

The 2017 Sr. Babe Ruth Tournament at Hibbs-Hooten wraps up today with single elimination bracket play, beginning at 10AM. Unfortunately, both the Wellington Host Team and also Walnut Ark Valley Team (primarily Wellington boys) didn't make it out of pool play with enough wins to advance to this final day of action. Both squads came up short on Saturday to seal their fates. Our Host team ended up 1-2 in pool play action, WAV ended at 0-3.

Slow Start for Wellington Sr. Babe Ruth Teams

It was hot, at least until shortly before the totally unforecast rain hit down at Hibbs-Hooten in the 4th and final game of Day 1 Pool Play at the 16-18 yo Sr. Babe Ruth State Tournament. Wellington has “2” teams in the “8” team event that runs through Sunday and after the first day of Pool Play, the records look like this:

Wellington Host Team  0-1
Walnut Ark Valley (Wgtn) 0-1

Parsons 0-1
Independence 0-1

Liberal 1-0

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Wellington has "5" baseball teams active in post-season State level play and "4" of those "5" will be taking to the field beginning today and tomorrow. Wellington's 9 yo's have one more week to wait but they'll see action in Garden City next weekend! The 10 yo's, the 15 yo's and "2" teams of 16-18 yo's start the TOURNAMENT TRAIL today and tomorrow. Good luck to all - their schedules and the complete online brackets for each are listed below. Action begins HERE this afternoon for our Sr.
