The Varsity Tennis girls trekked to Pratt on Saturday for the Pratt High School Varsity Invitational where they finished 3rd as a team, and as Coach Aufdengarten explains, "would have finished 1st or 2nd, but they asked us to move our #2 singles to #1 singles to balance out the pools, so we did not get points in that spot."
That said, Coach reports that the #2 Doubles team of seniors Crystal Ramirez and Jordyn brown had a very good day, finishing "just short in the championship match" 4-6 to a Larned team who has only had one loss this season. Prior to the championship match, Crystal and Jordyn had won all their matches 6-0.
The #1 Doubles team of Ashlyn Gerten and Kadynce Aufdengarten won their third straight tournament and "only gave up 1t otal game in 4 matches." They are now currently 11-0 this season.
Kami Richenberger placed 4th with a 2-2 record for the day in the #1 Singles slot. Aufty said, "Kami didn't have her best...but she will rebound. One of the players she lost to was undefeated on the year, and the other only had one loss on the year." Freshman Logan Robinson also played #1 Singles in the other pool, and finished 5th with a 1-3 record for the day. Coach said, "Logan had a tough pool and played good early in her matches, staying close, but we only played to 6 because of the weather and rain coming in, so you can't get too far behind."
