JV Tennis Results and Pics from September 25

JV Tennis was at home this Monday in their last home appearance for the season, and we had lots of Crusaders on the courts comprising two Wellington teams hosting Chaparral, Valley Center, Campus, and Andover. Jordan Koehn and Ellie Hays took 2nd in #1 Doubles, followed by Scout and River Douglas in 3rd. Additionally, partners Scotlyn Ewing and Sullivan Parkey took 2nd in #2 Doubles. Overall, we had one team, Wellington Red (Koehn, Hays, Ewing, Parkey, Thalia Garcia, and Breegan Bevan), place 3rd.

Thanks to my buddy Kai Klein for taking a couple of pics early on in the gallery!

Wellington Tennis competes in Collegiate Tournament of Champions

On September 23, Lady Crusader Tennis attended the Wichita Collegiate Tournament of Champions, the notoriously tough tournament with several 5A and 6A schools. Wellington finished 11th of 17 teams with doubles partners Lyric and Cruz Cornejo leading the team finishing 13th, followed by Kadynce Aufdengarten and Logan Robinson finishing 14th after going head-to-head with the Cornejo sisters. In the Singles bracket, Kyra Cornejo placed 23rd and Addie Hinshaw placed 28th. Wellington’s 50 points landed the team just behind the highest 4A placer at the tournament, McPherson, at 54 points.
